Why is a ChildLife Specialist important for kids with cancer?
Evelyn's experience of radiation while in treatment for cancer felt isolating at times, especially when the ChildLife Specialists who supported her at Alberta Children's Hospital weren't available at other facilities. These trauma-informed caregivers use positive distraction and other forms of support to help the child deal with what is always a difficult and traumatic experience.
We have raised $300,000 in the last four years! With Alberta Children's Hospital as our partner, our goal for Ev's 16th birthday is to raise the last $50,000 needed on this project. We invite you to join us in making Evelyn's dream come true!
